Mike's Weblog.
You know the little voice in your head that says "No, don't say that. It is boring, inane and geeky"? I should stop listening to it.
But which voice should I listen to instead?
The one that says "Tell them what you feel/think!" or the one that says "Don't say anything, why not just ignore them and hope that they'll go away?" Or the one that says "You want to go to Spar and buy a Lion bar"?

I was, it's fair to say, not looking forward to my workplace's Team Building Day. I seemed to recall from my childhood a plethora of workplace-based sitcoms hilariously featuring team building days, where everyone gets lost, and ends up eating eachother. Actually, that was the film Alive, but, to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if the next Team Building day involved cannibalism in some way.
So, anyway, the Team Torture Day involved us going to Aerial EXTREME!! (emphasis my own, because I think it needs it), which is basically an Adventure Playground only really high up in the air, and in Milton Keynes. You have to traverse the usual terrifying obstacles like tightropes and wobbly bridges only with the added bonus of being 40 feet in the air. You do have a safety harness, to minimise death and stuff, but, frankly, this was not enough.
I thought I'd got over my fear of heights, but apparently I hadn't - I actually just hadn't done anything very high up recently that didn't involve me being behind a really big fence. I chickened out from doing the higher level, where you had to swing across a wobbly bridge made of rope.
I'm not doing it again.
Not without a change of underwear, anyway.

I've updated Mikeynet with a couple of new adventures of the Men in a pub
This may be revealing my secrets, but I am the bloke on the left, and the bloke on the right is a friend of mine (although I'm sure he would dispute this). You can try and guess who. Please. Someone, test my AJAX comments.

I've been messing around with Javascript for no good reason (there very rarely is) and I have made some shiny new comment adding boxes. Simply click "add comment" to see what can only be described as a glimpse of the future. If you spot any bugs, please comment here.
(Internet Explorer messes the design up slightly, but it's always done that.)

I'm watching the new series of Battlestar Galactica at the moment. I'm only on season 1, so there's probably a hundred freaky twists that will answer all my questions later on, but at the moment it seems that the Cylons don't have the best plans.
Here is the Cylons plan:
1) Learn how to make synthetic Cylon people.
2) Make them all really good looking, so that they'll blend in
3) Only make about 8 designs
4) Blow everyone up
5) Play freaky mind games with everyone for the purposes of drama
6) Did I mention they were all good looking?
Interestingly, the creator of the original, Glen A. Larson, was a Mormon and the series contains many parallels (check out all that stuff about 12 colonies and there being a lost one. Also the bit about everyone having 8 wives). It was also rubbish. The theological aspect is still there in the new series, which is interesting.
If anyone posts any spoilers, I will come at them harder than Jack Bauer defending a bus full of orphan nuns.
