I'm maternity-covering exams side-kick at a college in Leicester. It's pretty much the same job as I did for a while while temping, which is probably why I got it. It was odd because I was quite relaxed and they even laughed at my joke and didn't look at me like I'd just kicked a baby seal. I'd type something really irreverant, but they might read this and fire me. Also, tedious diary type posts aren't as much fun to read as they are to write.

Teletext, that amazing repository of information, like the Internet only the pages change when you're reading them and you can text in, used to have some amazing computer games pages called Digitiser on them. They were amazing because they didn't just review games, they had crazy jokes and other similar stuff. These things were written by Mr "Paul Rose" Biffo until he quit due to hating the people who run Teletext. (FACT: Teletext is owned by the Daily Mail)

Anyway, if I try to describe the genius here, you would look at me like I am some kind of crazy person. So someone has painfully copied all the jokes and that and put them on this site: Digi-me-do.. Observant readers will notice I too have copied all the jokes, but that's only to point you to the genius. Yes, that's why.

So, yeah, anyway, I stumbled upon his blog, and apparently he's writing 2 sitcoms. I hope they are funny:

Would it be a waste of my hard-earned cash to buy those newly released Star Wars DVDs which don't have CGI drawn all over them?
Vote in the comments with one of these choices:
1) Yes, Mike, it's Star Wars and therefore brilliant. You must buy it. Remember when you went to see Attack of the Clones twice? Do that again.
2) No you have the special editions on DVD. While the originals are (mostly) superior, the differences aren't all that great. Wait for the version on Mega-HD-turbo-micro-disc in 2011 with special features you can download into your brain through a cool Millennium Falcon shaped helmet.
3) Put them on your Christmas list
4) Why don't you buy the special edition of Tron £3.99? It's a bit rubbish but it's got evil computers that talk in it.

I've got a job interview next Tuesday. I hate job interviews. This is typically what I am like at job interviews:
"So, Michael, tell me about your experience in [related experience]."
"Yeah, well, I, er, I know a bit of [related skill] and I've done some of that [other related skill], but I'm rubbish. Unbelievably so. In fact, I managed to be late today because I couldn't find the bus stop. If you employ me, you are an idiot."
"OK. What do you think of [something else]?"
"Aaargh! I don't know! Leave me alone! I want to go home! Stop talking to me!"
"OK, well, we've got a few more people to speak to but we should be coming to a decision some time next week. Thank you for coming"
"No, thank you!"
(This is when I realise my fly has been undone the entire interview)
Didn't get the job that time.

It's a well-known fact that I hate internet instant messengers (I remember when ICQ was the big thing... in like 1998 or something) so I'm not sure why I'm excited that I've discovered that there's a Linux version of Skype now. Or maybe there always has been, I'm not sure, I haven't been paying attention. I just rang my home phone - on the internet! There are few things as exciting as this
I'm known as theamazingmikeyc. I don't know what etiquette there is on it for talking to people though. Maybe it's like the normal phone where people get really annoyed when you ring them all the time, threaten to kill them and breathe heavily etc.
Also, on Mikeynet, Film Trivia update. Wow! With this much excitement, how do I find the time to sleep? Answer: at work.
