Microsoft wins Browser Wars: OFFICIAL

I think everyone's reaction to the news that Netscape has been officially discontinued is probably "they were still making it?"

I wonder if Microsoft's trouncing of Netscape in the browser wars was actually not such a bad thing - with Netscape as the sole arbiter of webbyness we'd still be in the same mess, only with no Mozilla, and we'd be charged $30 a go... oh, and there'd be Blink tags everywhere.

esoteric ramblings

Aaah it's nearly the end of the year already and there's so much I haven't done! I haven't started a novel, learnt to play the piano or updated Mikeynet enough. I have, however been to 4 weddings (but no funerals as yet) and moved twice, so it's not all been a waste of time.

I should probably put up the rest of my Holiday Diary before I completely forget it (there's so much more to mention! Going to Berlin! Being stuck for 7 hours in a hot room with sweaty Italians! The American on the train with a guitar and a worn book of poetry bulging his back pocket looking like he'd got lost on his way to an episode of Dawson's Creek! The time we nearly got lost in Berlin and it wasn't my fault at all! The impressive transport cathedral that is Berlin Hauptbahnhof!) so stay tuned or whatever the new media equivalent may be.

However:
Isn't Internet Explorer 7.0 rubbish? It just doesn't work properly. It's like it was written by idiots. It's so consistantly stupid that I might just set an autoreply so whenever clients at work have a problem with their site it just says "use a better browser." instead. Although, usually it's my own shoddy programming that's the problem - but don't tell them that!!!
